Kazakhstan Expands Direct Flight Connectivity with India

Mumbai, April 24, 2025 – As part of the implementation of the order of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to increase flights from Kazakhstan to foreign countries, with the assistance of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in India, a ceremony dedicated to launch of a direct flights between Almaty and Mumbai was held in Mumbai.
Welcoming the guests, “Air Astana” Chief Executive Officer Peter Foster introduced the company's plans for India and the tourism potential of Kazakhstan.
He was followed by Suvrita Saxena, Head of the Department of Civil Aviation of the State of Maharashtra, who congratulated the residents of Mumbai and Maharashtra on the establishment of another tourist destination as Kazakhstan, while representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in India told the guests about the potential for strengthening Kazakh-Indian ties in general.
The cultural program of the event included performances by the “Astana Ballet” Theatre, the “Tengri” music band, and designer Aizhan Bekkulova, who presented a new collection of ethnic clothing.
