As part of the President’s instructions delivered at the third session of the National Kurultai, the “Auylga Kitap” project has been implemented for the second year in a row in the Almaty region to promote reading culture among youth.
Within the framework of the project, the latest literary and educational publications are being distributed free of charge to remote village schools and youth centers with the support of sponsors.
Last year, with sponsorship support, 1,000 books worth 10 million tenge were sent to rural libraries. This year, on April 23 – National Book Day – 600 books valued at 2 million tenge were gifted to newly opened youth centers in the Balkhash, Kegen, and Raiymbek districts.
This meaningful initiative was supported by the M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art.
Among the donated books are valuable works of Kazakh cultural and spiritual heritage, including: “Poetry of the Jyrshy (bards)”, “Games of the Great Steppe”, “Alpamys Batyr”, “Abai”, “Mukhtar Auezov”, and “Alash Figures and National Folklore.”
The main goal of the ceremonial event is to spark young people's interest in reading and foster a strong sense of national identity and awareness.
