The agenda of bilateral cooperation discussed in the Parliament of Japan

Tokyo, April 25, 2025 - Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Japan Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev delivered a speech on the prospects of bilateral relations to the Members of the House of Councillors and the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan.
Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev informed the participants of the general meeting of the Parliamentary Friendship League with Kazakhstan about the results of the official visit of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu to Tokyo on March 17-18, 2025, as well as the upcoming joint political and economic activities. The Ambassador also congratulated Japan on the opening of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, noting that the Kazakhstan pavilion in the 'Uniting Lives' zone showcased an innovative development called ALEM, designed to store and transport donor heart.
Toshiaki Endo, Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship League with Kazakhstan, stated that Japanese MPs are willing to contribute to the future expansion of mutually beneficial collaboration with Kazakhstan, underlining the important role of the country in Central Asia.
Akihisa Nagashima, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan, who attended the event, emphasized Kazakhstan's demographic, transit and transport potential, as well as the possibility for transferring Japanese technologies in digitalization and green energy.
Masaki Ishikawa, Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Central Asia, delivered information on Japan's main directions in foreign policy toward the Kazakhstan, focusing on the economic prospects of our country.
At the conclusion of the discussion, Members of the Japanese Parliament representing various political parties and ministries exchanged views on a number of aspects of Kazakh-Japanese relations and prospects for its development.
