Current Issues in Combating Human Trafficking were Discussed at the Kazakh Foreign Ministry

Astana, April 25, 2025 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a briefing for representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country on combating human trafficking, organized with the participation of the International Organization for Migration Mission in Kazakhstan with Coordinating Functions for Central Asia.

The event was attended by members of the Mazhilis of Parliament, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as non-governmental organizations working in the field of combating human trafficking.

Foreign diplomats were briefed on the measures being taken to strengthen the fight against human trafficking in Kazakhstan, including tougher penalties for such crimes and the development of preventive mechanisms. Along with this, the briefing participants were informed about the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Combating Human trafficking”.
