Rio de Janeiro, April 28, 2025 – During his working visit to Brazil, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akan Rakhmetullin took part in the Round Table on the topic: «Brazil-Kazakhstan: Investment and Trade Opportunities» with the participation of representatives of a number of Brazilian companies and economic associations of Brazil.

In his welcoming speech, the Kazakh diplomat acquainted the participants of the meeting with the current political and economic development of the country, as well as the reforms carried out in Kazakhstan headed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Having outlined the main aspects of the Kazakh-Brazilian bilateral relations, the main emphasis was placed on the openness of the Kazakh economy to Brazilian investment, expansion of trade, creation of joint ventures, use of the transport and logistics capabilities of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the entry of Brazilian goods into neighboring markets, as well as all the advantages of the investment legislation of our country.

In this context, Akan Rakhmetullin called on local business circles to actively participate in the work of the Kazakh-Brazilian Business Council, created in 2021 with the support of the National Confederation of Industry of Brazil (CNI) and JSC Kazakhstan Center for Industry and Export QazIndustry.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil Bolat Nussupov, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry «Kazakhstan – Brazil» Cassiano Pereira Viana and representatives of Brazilian companies operating in Kazakhstan also made presentations at the meeting.

During the event, the official representative of JSC «NC» Kazakh Invest for the Americas Marat Birimzhan held a presentation of the investment climate in Kazakhstan and measures of state support for foreign investment, and also introduced the priorities of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazil.

As part of the event, a memorandum was signed between the CCI «Brazil – Kazakhstan» and the consulting company «Athino Advisor» on the creation of the platform «RioKaz Connections», which provides for the expansion of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the state of Rio de Janeiro in the field of economics, trade, tourism, cultural and academic exchange.

Following the Round Table, Akan Rakhmetullin held talks with the management of a number of Brazilian companies and invited the leadership of the state of Rio de Janeiro to visit Kazakhstan on an economic mission.
