A Seminar on Combating Illegal Gambling and Gambling Addiction Held at the Department of State Revenues of East Kazakhstan Region

On November 24, 2025, the Department of State Revenues of East Kazakhstan Region held a seminar focused on combating illegal gambling activities and preventing gambling addiction.

The event was led by the Deputy Head of the Department — Ethics Commissioner Kazybek Koishinov, with participation from the psychologist of the "Antares A" Public Foundation, Serik Baibusunov.

During his presentation, psychologist Baibusunov highlighted the key issues of gambling addiction, its causes, and the consequences for individuals who are prone to excessive gambling. He noted that the mechanisms of gambling addiction are similar to those of drug and alcohol dependence.

As part of the seminar, a preventive session on preventing discrimination and sexual harassment against women in government bodies was also conducted. Participants were reminded of the importance of maintaining equality, respect, and a safe working environment.

At the end of the seminar, participants received comprehensive answers to all their questions.

Deputy Head and Ethics Commissioner Kazybek Kadessovich emphasized the importance of observing civil service ethics, complying with legislation, preventing corruption, and adhering to the Civil Servant's Code of Ethics.
