On May 6, 2023, representatives of the Institute of Ionosphere took part in the international scientific and practical seminar “Sustainable Development, Scientific Research, and Workforce Training for the Aerospace Sector of CIS Countries,” organized by Kozybayev University. The event brought together leading scientists and experts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Russia, creating a platform for discussing current issues in astrophysics, the application of satellite technologies, and the improvement of educational programs for the space industry.
The Institute of Ionosphere presented scientific results in the fields of space weather research, atmospheric physics, space data analysis, and the development of satellite emergency monitoring systems.
The key event of the seminar was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Kozybayev University and the Institute of Ionosphere. The document provides for joint work in the fields of decarbonization, greenhouse gas monitoring, implementation of educational programs for students, and conducting research on the physics of the upper atmosphere and near-Earth outer space.
Special attention was drawn to the achievements of the Astrophysical Research Center of Kozybayev University, headed by Professor Andrey Andreevich Solodovnik. The center’s team presented innovative results in the study of long-period variable stars, including proof of the connection between meteorological processes and the dynamics of noctilucent clouds—an achievement with no analogues in global practice.
In the final part of the event, the parties discussed the prospects of joint scientific projects, the organization of student internships at the Institute of Ionosphere, and strategic directions for further cooperation within the framework of international scientific partnership.
