HEROES OF THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR FROM TURKEY: ANARBAY MYRZAKHMETOV

In Syntas village of Karabau rural district, Kazygurt district, there lives an elder who set an example of bravery in the Great Patriotic War. He was born in 1926 in Zhanaturmys collective farm. In 1944, when he turned 18, he was drafted into the army, underwent military training in Semey and was sent to the Belorussian front. The brave soldier fought as part of the 1st machine gunners, in the ranks of the army led by the famous marshal G. Zhukov. He is Anarbai Myrzakhmetov.
The fighter started his first campaign on Polish soil and took part in operations for the liberation of Warsaw. In May 1945, as a soldier of the Belarusian front, he reached the Elbe river and showed bravery in the heavy battles for the liberation of the cities of Magdeburg and Blankenburg. Elder Anarbay, who celebrated Victory Day in Berlin, served in Germany until 1946. Later, in 1948, he completed his military service in Ivanovo and returned to the country in 1950.
After the war, he got involved in peaceful life, worked as a driver, and then as a farm manager. Together with his wife Shaman Myrzakhmetova, they have raised 10 sons and daughters, and today they have 47 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Anarbai Myrzakhmetov was awarded the medals "For taking Berlin", "For bravery", "For defeating Germany".
