On the eve of the 12th session of the Kazakhstan-China Cooperation Committee to be held in Beijing under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, on March 16-17, Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev held a series of talks with leading Chinese companies.
1. Issues of cooperation in the field of aviation, in particular, with the president of "CAMC Engineering" Li Haixing, the issue of creating an air hub providing cargo transit from China to Central Asian and European countries was discussed. The parties agreed to further develop this initiative at the inter-departmental level.
2. In a meeting with Zhi Xianwei, Secretary of the Tacheng District Party Committee, they agreed to inspect the border infrastructure and take joint steps to increase its carrying capacity. Also, the Chinese side provided information on the work being done in this direction.
3.«Chinacai Finance Investment Co., Ltd.» with the company's managing partner Lin Jianjun discussed the issue of building a technology and logistics park with an investment of 1 billion USD. Also, the parties expressed a common interest in opening a modern temporary storage warehouse at the Bakhti border crossing.
4. Negotiations were held with Liu Jianshen, vice president of XCMG, on the issue of local development of special equipment production in Kazakhstan. The parties considered the issue of establishing joint production due to the increase in demand for road construction equipment in the country and agreed to further develop cooperation.
5. The joint implementation of the airport development project of the city of Turkestan was discussed with Qiao Changen, deputy general director of China Henan Airlines. Turkestan regional administration will also participate in the project.
6. At the meeting with Cai Xuexun, the general director of the China Silk Road Fund, the issue of attracting foreign investment to the transport infrastructure modernization program of Kazakhstan was discussed. Investors' interest will be focused on upgrading highways, expanding railway lines, developing port infrastructure and other strategic projects. The financial institution expressed its readiness to invest in projects aimed at promoting regional and international trade.
7. At a meeting with Zhang Baohua, a member of the board of directors of "SP Qingdao Port Group", the issue of further development of Kazakh ports was discussed. The parties talked about modernizing the infrastructure of ports, increasing capacity and expanding cooperation in the field of transport and logistics. Also, they considered the problems of improving their operation by introducing modern technologies into the development of ports and organizing logistics processes effectively.
