Oncology care continues to improve in Karagandy region. A modern radiation therapy center was equipped with the support of the "People of Kazakhstan" fund in multidisciplinary hospital No. 3 (regional oncology clinic). It is equipped with the latest equipment - a network accelerator and a computed tomography scanner, which allows for detailed visualization of tumors.
Access to vital therapy has increased for patients. Medical assistance is provided free of charge in the guaranteed amount.
Akim of the region Ermaganbet Bolekpaev familiarized himself with the possibilities of the new center. The presentation of the equipment was attended by Lazzat Shingysbaeva, Chairman of the Board of the Kazakh Oncology and Radiology Research Institute, Yerbol Bekmukhambetov.
- Last year, we opened a chemotherapy center that meets European standards. Supply of oncological services continues. Very high-level equipment was received through the "People of Kazakhstan" fund. Help is provided not only to the residents of our region, but also to the neighboring Ulytau region. About 400 people underwent radiation therapy course in the new device. More than 600 people were examined by computed tomography. We will continue this work. We are in close contact with the "People of Kazakhstan". As you know, this fund was created at the initiative of the President of the country and we are seeing real results, - said Ermaganbet Bolekpaev.
Lazzat Chingisbaeva announced that the second stage of equipping the oncology service in Karaganda region is under consideration. We understand that every piece of equipment, even modern equipment, has a design capacity. Therefore, we consider the second stage of equipping. In addition to equipment installation, staff training is underway. This is a government plan to fight cancer in which our foundation participates. In general, we hope that the oncology service will reach a new level, - says Lazzat Chingisbaeva.
According to Gamal Toksambaev, director of multidisciplinary hospital No. 3, up to 1000 patients can receive radiation therapy a year. Advanced methodology helps reduce side effects and improve patients' quality of life.
– Equipment is morally outdated, physically worn out. Patients go abroad for quality care. And now we have devices in European and American clinics. This makes it possible to improve the quality of medical care, - noted Gamal Toksambaev.
