A meeting of the Operational Headquarters for flood preparation was held in Kostanay region. According to regional akim Kumar Aksakalov, there is little time left before the spring floods, and according to the forecast of "Kazhydromet", this spring will be warm and rainy, which in turn will increase the risk of floods.
"According to preliminary forecasts, spring will be warm and rainy. The regions are not yet fully prepared for flood situations. In this regard, it was decided to create an Operational Headquarters to coordinate measures to prevent flooding and eliminate its consequences," said Kumar Aksakalov.
Tasks of the Operational Headquarters
The established headquarters performs the main tasks of ensuring the safety of citizens and prompt response to possible emergency situations. Its main directions include:
• development of proposals for flood prevention and elimination of consequences;
• deployment of forces and means necessary to fight against floods;
• monitoring the implementation of flood prevention measures;
• organization of relocation of residents in case of danger to their lives and health;
• restoration of engineering infrastructure and housing in affected areas;
• social assistance to citizens affected by floods. show.
Preparatory works need to be strengthened
Regional akim noted that it is necessary to strengthen preparations for the period of flooding from today. Snow removal, widening of roads, cleaning of water channels and water pipes should be actively carried out in each settlement. Heavy equipment and motor pumps should be pre-positioned in areas with a high risk of flooding.
Kumar Aksakalov said that agricultural enterprises should also actively participate in these works:
"Heads of agricultural structures should not be left out. It is necessary to provide all-round assistance to the people and strengthen snow removal, it is important to take measures to prevent melting water early".
