The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Malaysia, H.E. Bulat Sugurbayev, visited “Proton City,” a multifunctional township developed by Malaysia’s first and leading car manufacturer, Proton. The township encompasses the company’s headquarters, production facilities, and social infrastructure supporting its workforce.

During the visit, Kazakh diplomats were briefed on Proton’s operations and future development plans, particularly in light of the company’s recent product line expansion. Proton also showcased its full range of vehicles, including Malaysia’s first electric car.

The Kazakh delegation briefed the Malaysian company on Kazakhstan’s economic potential and investor-friendly environment. Ambassador Sugurbayev held discussions with Proton’s leadership on the prospects of entering the Kazakh market, including the potential for localizing production in the future. Both sides expressed interest in continuing dialogue and cooperation in this direction.
