For the first time in Georgia, a ceremonial reception was held to mark the national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Defender of the Fatherland Day.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of Georgia, military attachés accredited in Tbilisi, as well as journalists.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Georgia, Malik Murzalin, delivered a welcoming address in which he emphasized that Kazakhstan pursues a consistent and peaceful foreign policy. At the same time, the Kazakh army reliably protects the country’s independence and actively contributes to collective security within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Kazakh UN peacekeepers serve in missions in the Middle East and Africa, making valuable contributions to stabilizing the military-political situation in certain countries of those regions.
The Kazakh diplomat noted that the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, pays close attention to and provides strong support for strengthening national defense capabilities, as well as supporting military personnel and their families.
The Ambassador also highlighted that Kazakh-Georgian relations are successfully developing across political, economic, cultural-humanitarian, military, and defense spheres.
Kazakhstan’s Military Attaché in Georgia, Kazez Tleubaev, congratulated attendees on the occasion and spoke about the military parade held in Astana in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, during which the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan demonstrated the country’s military strength and defense capability.
“Over the past three decades, the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan have undergone a series of organizational and structural reforms aimed at increasing combat potential in line with modern requirements. The legal framework has been improved, considering the geopolitical situation and Kazakhstan’s international position, and social guarantees for military personnel have been enhanced,” the attaché said.
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze, congratulated Kazakhstan on the holiday, emphasized the importance of further developing the current level of cooperation between the two countries, and expressed Georgia’s readiness to continue strengthening this partnership.
During the reception, Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze was awarded a commemorative medal dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Sagadat Nurmagambetov, the first Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of the event, a photo exhibition and a screening of videos about the Kazakh army were organized.
