Vilnius, 15 May 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan Timur Urazayev met with President of the Lithuanian National Road Carriers Association LINAVA Erlandas Mikėnas to discuss key issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.

During the meeting, it was noted that in 2024, the volume of road freight between Kazakhstan and Lithuania exceeded 7,900 tons, which is more than three times higher than in 2023. The main cargo categories were machinery, equipment, agricultural and pharmaceutical products, fertilizers, and scrap metal.

Special attention was given to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). Kazakhstan is actively investing in the expansion and modernization of key logistics infrastructure along the Middle Corridor, including the construction of a container hub in the Port of Aktau, a grain terminal in the Port of Kuryk, and the multifunctional Sarzha terminal in partnership with AD Ports (taking into account the growth of transportation along the TITR by 62% in 2024).

The ambassador noted Kazakhstan's interest in cooperation with Lithuanian logistics companies, including the possibility of connecting transport projects with the logistics of the Baltic region, including the port of Klaipeda, in the context of the development of TMTM.

The parties confirmed their willingness to develop business cooperation and use the logistic potential of both countries to form stable routes between Europe and Asia.
