In celebration of the International Day of Families, the Government for Citizens State Corporation presents the top five regions of Kazakhstan by number of registered marriages and births for the period from January to May 2025.

In the first four months of the year, 144,234 babies were born in Kazakhstan, and 36,818 couples officially tied the knot.

Top 5 Regions by Number of Births:

1. Turkistan Region – 17,643 newborns (12.2% of total births)
2. Almaty City – 16,914 (11.7%)
3. Astana City – 14,134 (9.8%)
4. Almaty Region – 12,121 (8.4%)
5. Shymkent City – 11,645 (8.1%)

Top 5 Regions by Number of Registered Marriages:

1. Almaty City – 5,731 marriages (15.6% of total)
2. Astana City – 4,005 (10.9%)
3. Turkistan Region – 2,919 (7.9%)
4. Almaty Region – 2,424 (6.6%)
5. Shymkent City – 2,356 (6.4%)

According to official data, April saw the highest number of civil status registrations so far this year. During this month, registration offices issued 37,812 birth certificates and 10,190 marriage certificates.
