The International Rugby-7 Tournament among internal troops and national guards of friendly nations, held under the auspices of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya), has concluded in St. Petersburg. This prestigious competition brought together the strongest teams from the security forces of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, showcasing high athletic performance, team spirit, and military camaraderie.

The National Guard team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan confidently passed the group stage, achieving a crushing 45:0 victory over the Saratov Military Institute of the Russian National Guard (SVKI), and defeating the Perm Military Institute (PVI) with a score of 38:5. The only loss came in a tense match against the Military Order of Zhukov Academy of the Russian National Guard — 7:12.

As a result, the Kazakh team took second place, yielding only to the host team — the Military Academy of the Russian National Guard — and claimed silver medals at the international tournament.

According to the tournament organizers, Rugby-7 is a game where a true battle of character and speed unfolds within two seven-minute halves. Thanks to its high intensity, this discipline is ideally suited for military personnel, developing endurance and the ability to make quick decisions in challenging situations.

Participation of the National Guard team in this tournament not only underscored the high level of physical training of Kazakh servicemen but also served as a vivid example of strengthening military-sports cooperation with friendly nations. Winning silver at such a prestigious international level is a credit to each player and the result of teamwork, discipline, and combat spirit.
