International Family Day:
statistics of marriages and births in Kazakhstan
On International Family Day, the Government for Citizens State Corporation has prepared the top 5 regions of the country in terms of the number of registered marriages and newborns in the period from January to May 2025.
During the first four months of this year, 144,234 newborns were registered in Kazakhstan and 36,818 couples married.
Top 5 regions in terms of the number of registered births:
1. Turkestan region – 17,643 newborns (12.2% of the total number).
2. Almaty city – 16,914 (11.7%).
3. The city of Astana – 14 134 (9,8%).
4. Almaty region – 12 121 (8,4%).
5. Shymkent city – 11,645 (8.1%).
Top 5 regions in terms of the number of marriages:
1. Almaty city – 5,731 marriages (15.6% of the total number).
2. The city of Astana – 4 005 (10,9%).
3. Turkestan region – 2 919 (7,9%).
4. Almaty region – 2 424 (6,6%).
5. Shymkent city – 2,356 (6.4%).
According to official data, since the beginning of 2025, the largest number of registered acts of civil status was recorded in April. During this month, the departments of the RAGS issued 37,812 birth certificates and 10,190 marriage certificates.
