Thanks to the vigilance and swift actions of servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with staff from Penal Institution No. 28 of the Penal Correction System in the West Kazakhstan Region, an attempt to deliver prohibited items into a secured facility was successfully thwarted.

During a routine inspection of a package using X-ray equipment, the servicemen detected signs of concealed prohibited items. The violation was identified by inspection specialist Sergeant Zhannat Khalilova of military unit 5517.

Upon further inspection, it was found that the laundry detergent package contained:

• 11 mobile phones

• 7 pairs of wireless earphones

• 30 wired earphones

• 1 smartwatch

• 1 flash card adapter

• 3 flash drives

• 1 container with a red liquid of strong odor (currently under examination)

• 13 USB cables

• 4 charging devices

The coordinated and professional actions of the law enforcement troops and correctional facility staff allowed for the timely detection and prevention of this smuggling attempt.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
