Since the beginning of 2025, nearly 150 new educational facilities have been opened in Kazakhstan across preschool, secondary, special, inclusive, and additional education sectors. In the preschool education and upbringing system, 126 organizations have been put into operation in the last four months, creating approximately 8,500 new places. Additionally, the number of advisory centers for parents of children not attending kindergartens has reached 4,100. These centers provide parents with methodological support on home upbringing and child development.
Currently, construction is underway for 232 new schools with a total capacity of 267,000 student places in various regions. Three new-format schools have been opened in East Kazakhstan and Almaty regions. Following the President’s directive, renovation work has started in 23 schools, including updating building facades, replacing roofs and windows, upgrading water and electrical systems, and landscaping school grounds. Under the national renovation program, 1,231 schools are planned to be renovated by the end of 2027.
In the inclusive and special education sector, three new institutions have been opened. Notably, with the launch of the autism center in Ulytau region, the number of special institutions increased from 496 to 504. Additionally, 121 support rooms for children with special educational needs have been established within general education schools. Currently, 90% of schools in the country are equipped with the necessary conditions for inclusive education.
Among major projects are six additional education facilities opened in North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar regions, as well as in Almaty and Shymkent cities. In June, two modern children’s health and recreation centers will be launched in Aktobe and Zhetysu regions.
