Kazakhstani citizens can now independently check the verification status of their mobile device in the eGov Mobile application, on the www.gov.kz and imei.rfs.gov.kz portals. The new service allows you to find out if the IMEI code is registered in the database of registered DIC devices, as well as to find out how many numbers are associated with a particular device.

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique number assigned to each mobile device that supports cellular communications. It consists of 15 digits and contains information about the manufacturer, model and location of the device.

The service allows users to check the IMEI status of their device. The system will inform the user that their IMEI is already registered on the network if the IMEI is found in the database of registered DIC devices. If the number is missing from the database, the system checks and reports one of two possible outcomes: the IMEI was successfully verified and can be used in the Republic of Kazakhstan, or the IMEI was not verified.

To use the service in the eGov Mobile application, the user needs to:

• sign in to the eGov mobile app;
• select the 'Subscriber device IMEI verification' service from the 'Popular services' section on the homepage;
• grant access to personal data;
• select one of the available verification methods and view the result.

To use the service on the eGov.kz portal, the user needs to:

• go to the website of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• follow the banner/link to the service 'Subscriber device IMEI verification';
• select one of the available verification methods and view the result.

To use the service on the imei.rfs.gov.kz portal, the user needs to:

• go to the rfs.gov.kz website;
• select one of the available verification methods and view the result.

Users can also use the IIN verification feature to find out which mobile numbers are registered to their IIN. IMEI verification is also available, providing information on the number of subscribers using a particular device.
