More than 4.4 million people are employed in SMEs
The development of entrepreneurship is an important factor in the sustainable development of the national economy. According to official statistics, the share of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in GDP has been growing over the past year. In the fourth quarter of 2024, the share of SMEs in the economy was 39.7%. The total number of people employed in 2024 increased by 2.2% and reached 4.4 million people. The volume of output by SMEs in the fourth quarter of 2024 increased by 19.2% and amounted to 81 trillion tenge. This was announced at a press conference in the CCS by Daryn Abduali, Director of the Department of State Support and Protection of Entrepreneurship of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
