The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has launched preparations for the spring conscription campaign of 2025. An interdepartmental meeting was held within the National Guard to coordinate efforts for the upcoming draft and to address key organizational and logistical issues. The discussions focused on cooperation with state authorities, unit staffing, and challenges faced during the conscription process.
According to the approved plan, over 7,000 young men will be drafted into the ranks of the National Guard between May 22 and June 30, 2025. Of these, approximately 5,000 conscripts will be assigned to military units responsible for maintaining public order in major cities and regional centers of Kazakhstan.
Special emphasis will be placed on staffing key National Guard units located in Astana (military unit 5573), Almaty (unit 5571), and Turkestan (unit 5574). These units play a critical role in ensuring internal security and are actively involved in daily patrols, public event security, and escort duties for high-profile state, political, and cultural gatherings. Due to heightened operational demands, conscripts assigned to these units will be carefully selected based on physical fitness, with a preference for individuals 175 cm and taller.
During the meeting, representatives of the National Guard emphasized the importance of close coordination with local executive bodies, Defense Affairs Departments, and law enforcement agencies. Efficient interagency collaboration is essential for the successful execution of the draft, timely formation of conscript teams, and resolution of any emerging issues during the selection and deployment process.
The National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue its efforts to enhance the transparency, legality, and efficiency of conscription procedures, ensuring that all recruits meet the highest standards and are ready to serve the nation with honor.
