The national competition is aimed at reviving moral values and cultivating a positive image of family and marriage (matrimony), raising the status of the family.
Families participate in the competition by self-nomination, as well as on the recommendation of local executive bodies and legal entities.

The application for participation in the competition is submitted to the district (city) commission from May 15 to June 15, 2025.
The competition is held in two stages:
The first is the district (city) stage (from May 15 to June 15).
The second stage is the regional (cities of republican significance, the capital) stage (from June 30 to July 15).
On the basis of decisions of regional (cities of republican significance, the capital) commissions, the winning families are awarded the title of laureate of the National competition "Mereily Otbasy".

The award ceremony for the winners of the competition will be held in Astana in a solemn atmosphere on the eve of Family Day in September.
The organizers of the contest are the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, local executive bodies with the support of the National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
