The Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Dmitriy Malakhov took part in the International Congress of Lawyers "Law, Rights, Justice in the Modern World", organized by the Law Enforcement Academy under the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This event is held in conjunction with Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Turkic Judicial Training Network and the 10th anniversary of the Academy. The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berik Asylov, the Chairmen of the Anti-Corruption Agency Askhat Zhumagali, the Financial Monitoring Agency Zhanat Elimanov, the representatives of the Office of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Academy of Justice under the Council, as well as representatives of the legal and scientific community of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan took part in the Congress.
In his welcoming speech, the Chairman of the Council Dmitriy Malakhov noted the relevance of the Congress topic, emphasizing that in a rapidly changing world only an independent and morally stable judge is able to make truly fair decisions. Judicial ethics and professionalism are the foundation of public confidence in the court.
The agenda of the Congress covered a wide range of issues. The participants focused on such topics as adapting legal systems to the challenges of global change, strengthening cooperation between the countries of the Organization of Turkic States in combating transnational threats, improvement the quality of legal education and professional training in a rapidly changing world.
It should be noted that the next meeting of representatives of the Turkic Judicial Training Network will be held in December this year at the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during which the chairmanship will be transferred to the next country.
