After the end of the academic year, school-based camps will start operating in Almaty, for which more than 200 schools in the metropolis are actively preparing to open. Parents can enroll their child in the camp by contacting the administration of their school. The stay in the camps is completely free of charge.
A rich summer holiday program is already being prepared for children. In the camps, children will be able to attend intellectual and creative games, sports competitions, quizzes, debate clubs, summer language schools and classes in the programs "Zhas Ulan", "Zhas Kiran" and much more. The camps will be open in the summer. The exact schedule of work should be clarified with the school administration.
"Each school prepares its own summer program for children. For example, six schools in the metropolis will have ethnic camps in yurts, where children will be able to get to know national traditions better, learn the basics of decorative and applied arts and needlework. 24 schools will host sports competitions in football, volleyball, basketball and national sports. Ecological camps aimed at developing ecological culture and a conscious attitude to nature among schoolchildren will operate in 50 schools. In general, summer school camps will be organized on the basis of more than 200 schools. Parents do not need to pay for visiting the camps," said Sayran Saifedenov, Head of the Almaty Department of Education.
Sayran Saifedenov also stressed that special attention is being paid to child safety issues. All camps will be equipped with medical rooms. Meetings were held with the heads of schools with the participation of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control and the Department of Emergency Situations. Preventive classes on the rules of behavior on the water, on roads, parks and in public places are also organized for children.
In addition, field and specialized camps will be organized in the city in the summer. On the basis of five institutions of additional education, including the Shabyt and Samgau Centers, the School House No. 1 and two Centers for Innovative Creativity, IT camps with a focus on science, experiments and project activities will begin. Day camps based on the Palace of Schoolchildren and other institutions will offer classes in chess, singing, dancing, wrestling and other areas.
In addition to summer camps, organizations offering additional education to children will be open all summer. About 11,000 schoolchildren will continue to attend classes in 122 private educational institutions free of charge as part of the state educational order.
Career guidance sections will also be organized on the basis of city colleges. As part of the "Summer with a future profession" project, students will be able to try their hand at cooking, fashion design, hairdressing and other specialties at 17 colleges.
