The Consul General took part in the opening ceremony of the year "Samarkand - the Cultural capital of the Islamic World 2025"

On May 27, 2025, Talgat Sharipov, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Samarkand, took part in the international forum titled “Spiritual Heritage and Cultural Expressions of the Islamic World” and the opening ceremony of the Year “Samarkand – Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2025.”
The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic World Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ICESCO). The forum gathered ministers of culture from over 20 countries, representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, scholars, and cultural figures.
In his speech, Talgat Sharipov highlighted that this platform offers a unique opportunity to strengthen cultural ties and discuss issues related to the preservation and promotion of shared spiritual and historical heritage. He emphasized international cooperation in culture as a vital tool for dialogue and mutual understanding among peoples.
He expressed confidence that Samarkand’s status as the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World in 2025 will contribute to actively promoting the city’s cultural, scientific, and tourism potential.
Noting ICESCO’s efforts to advance interreligious dialogue, Talgat Sharipov called on countries of the Islamic world to actively participate in the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, scheduled to be held in Astana in September 2025.
