Representatives of the Karaganda region took part in the Kazakh-French Investment Forum in Astana. The delegation was headed by Akim of the region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev and presented the investment potential of the region.

The Forum has become a platform for strengthening interstate economic cooperation and establishing business ties.

In Karaganda, in partnership with a French company, it is planned to implement a project in the field of water supply and sanitation, as well as cooperation between our medical university and the University of Paris-Saclay.

Opening the forum, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov stressed that thanks to trusting relations at the level of the two heads of state, bilateral relations have been elevated to the level of enhanced strategic partnership.

– Cooperation with France is one of the priorities of Kazakhstan's foreign policy and an integral part of our partnership within the European Union. Our countries have a strong and multidimensional partnership characterized by strong political ties, active intergovernmental and parliamentary dialogue, as well as dynamic trade and investment cooperation," said Olzhas Bektenov.

Ermaganbet Bulekpayev spoke about the advantages of the Karaganda region, its investment attractiveness and invited French companies to cooperate not only in industry, but also in other areas.

– Karaganda region is a region of great opportunities and open dialogue. We strive not just to attract investments, but to build long-term and mutually beneficial relationships. We have already started cooperation with the French company SUEZ in the field of rational water use and invite everyone to new joint projects. The advantage of our region is its location in the center, between the west and the east, Europe and Asia. The presence of a large transport and logistics system, international road and rail corridors, and an international-class airport with a cargo terminal, the potential of which has not been fully exploited," the head of the region noted.

A trilateral cooperation agreement was signed by SUEZ International SAS, Akim of Karaganda Meiram Kozhukhov and the Kazakhstan Center for Modernization and Development of Housing and Communal Services.

This opens up prospects for modernizing urban infrastructure and sustainable water use, which is especially important in the context of increasing pressure on public utilities and climate change.

SUEZ is a global leader in the field of sustainable water resources management.

The partnership involves the introduction of advanced technologies, improving the efficiency of water supply, as well as the development of solutions to reduce water losses and improve the quality of service.

The Karaganda Medical University and the University of Paris-Saclay also signed a memorandum at the forum.

Cooperation includes academic exchange of students, double degree programs, joint scientific research in the field of biomedicine.
