KazAID meeting at the headquarters of JICA
28 May 2025, Tokyo - Chairman of the Board of the Kazakhstan International Development of Agency ‘KazAID’ A. Arystanov held a meeting at the headquarters of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The meeting was held with Senior Vice President S. Imoto and Director of the Department of East Asia, Central Asia and Caucasus countries M. Hirosawa in the framework of his visit to participate in the international conference for Asian countries and the forum of the JICA Alumni Association, timed to coincide with the EXPO.
During the meeting, the parties appreciated the achievements in strengthening cooperation between the two agencies and organising joint development projects. This year KazAID in cooperation with JICA organised a seminar on risk management with the participation of representatives of Central Asian and Caucasus countries together with the World Customs Organisation (WCO) and the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Last year, the agencies organised workshops on seismic resilience in cooperation with the Centre for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction for Central Asia and the Caucasus in Almaty, and on entrepreneurship support in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
JICA is actively involved in capacity building of KazAID and implements joint projects to share experience and knowledge in the field of development. Such Japanese contribution strengthens bilateral relations and joint efforts to improve integration processes in the ‘CA+Japan’ format. The close interaction between KazAID and JICA is another contribution to South-South cooperation in various formats.
Following the results of the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to continue co-operation aimed at sustainable development of the region, expressed interest in exchange of experience and implementation of joint projects.
