Penitentiary system officers held a campaign for Children’s Day

On the eve of International Children’s Day, officers of Kazakhstan’s Penitentiary system System carried out a touching campaign called “Let’s See the World Together”, aimed at supporting children with visual impairments.

Within the correctional facilities, more than 300 unique gifts were made: tactile Braille alphabets, specialized chess and checkers sets, styluses, toys, pajamas, and sweets. The gifts were delivered to specialized schools and libraries across nine regions of the country, where more than 100 blind and visually impaired children received them.

“This is much better than gadgets. You can’t buy these kinds of items in a store, and many of our children simply don’t have access to them. But now, thanks to these donations, our children will be able to play chess and checkers. With the Braille alphabets, they’ll learn to read. Thank you for such valuable gifts!” said Karakat Abdrassulova, a librarian at the specialized library for the blind and visually impaired in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

The campaign became a vivid example of social responsibility and compassion, bringing together the efforts of Penitentiary system officers and everyone who cares about the lives of children with special needs.
