On May 30, 2025, as part of the cooperation between the Training-Methodical Center of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan (TMC SRC MF RK) and the Customs Institute of the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CI CC MEF RU), an online seminar was held on the timely topic: "Combating Smuggling and the Illicit Trafficking of Goods."

       The seminar was attended by students of the Customs Institute of the Republic of Uzbekistan and employees of the territorial bodies of state revenue.

      The purpose of this event was to raise awareness and improve the professional training of participants in the field of detecting, preventing, and suppressing smuggling and the illegal circulation of goods, as well as to exchange experiences and best practices for effective cooperation between customs authorities.

       The seminar featured the following speakers:

      – Lazzat Kassymkulova – Deputy Head of the Training-Methodical Center of the SRC MF RK;

      – Anuar Kassymbekov – Chief Specialist of the TMC SRC MF RK;

      – Vyacheslav Ilyin – Senior Lecturer in Special Legal Sciences at the Customs Institute of the CC MEF RU.

       During the event, participants examined current issues related to the detection, prevention, and suppression of smuggling, including the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and their analogues, as well as equipment used in the production of synthetic and other types of drugs, and the illegal circulation of goods such as firearms and their components, explosives, ammunition, foreign currency, and more.

     Participants discussed measures to counteract smuggling and the illegal transportation of goods across customs borders.

      The seminar served as an effective platform for comprehensive exchange of experience, discussion of practical approaches to identifying and preventing smuggling, and strengthening professional ties between representatives of customs authorities.
