Astana, May 29, 2025 – Within the framework of the Astana International Forum (AIF-2025), the Minister of Economy and Labor of North Macedonia Besar Durmishi delivered a speech at the panel session « Intellectual Property in the Era of AI and Creative Industries: Challenges and Opportunities».

Durmishi presented the national strategy of Northern Macedonia for the development and protection of intellectual property as a key component of the innovation-based economy, with a special focus on start-ups of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Minister noted that for North Macedonia, intellectual property is not only a legal protection, but also a real economic resource.

The main focus of the presentation was on the development of innovation infrastructure: the construction of a modern technology park, as well as the implementation of digital transformation programs for small businesses with the support of the European Center for Digital Innovation.

North Macedonia's participation in AIF-2025 has confirmed its commitment to be open to innovation, investment and sustainable economic development.
