Topical Aspects of Spiritual Diplomacy Discussed with Israel’s Chief Rabbis

Tel Aviv, June 4, 2025 — In the lead-up to the 8th Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the State of Israel Daulet Yemberdiyev held separate meetings with Israel’s Chief Sephardic Rabbi David Yosef and Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Kalman Ber.

During the discussions, the parties addressed preparations for the upcoming Congress, which will be held in Astana in September 2025, and underscored the importance of further strengthening interfaith dialogue on a global scale. Special attention was given to the participation of the Chief Rabbis’ representatives in the 23rd Meeting of the Congress Secretariat, as well as the 2nd Forum of Young Religious Leaders.

In this context, Ambassador Yemberdiyev expressed his gratitude to the religious leaders for their consistent support of Kazakhstan’s initiatives in the field of spiritual diplomacy. He presented official invitations on behalf of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Head of the Congress Secretariat Maulen Ashimbayev.

In turn, the Chief Rabbis expressed appreciation for the invitation and confirmed their interest in participating in the upcoming events. They praised Kazakhstan’s efforts in promoting the idea of interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue, noting that the Congress plays a unique role in building bridges of trust between different religious traditions and cultures.

Both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to the ideals of tolerance, mutual understanding, and peace, which are essential foundations for global cooperation and sustainable development.
