Prospects for Kazakhstan–Netherlands Cooperation in Diplomatic Training Discussed in The Hague

On 5 June 2025, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands, Kairat Abdrakhmanov, met with Ron Ton, Director of the Netherlands Institute of International Relations “Clingendael,” which is one of the leading international centers for diplomatic education. The meeting focused on continuing the successful cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and the Clingendael Academy, which has hosted professional development courses for young Kazakh diplomats for the past 31 years.
The high demand for the courses and the career advancement of their participants were noted with satisfaction. Opportunities for deepening cooperation were discussed, including the organization of new educational programs, trainings, and seminars aimed at developing key competencies such as negotiation skills, analysis of current international issues, and the effective resolution of foreign policy matters through dialogue and confidence-building measures. The importance of continued exchange of best practices in human resources and education policy was also emphasized.
The parties discussed the schedule of upcoming engagements between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Diplomacy of the Agency for Civil Service under the President of Kazakhstan, and the Clingendael Academy. They expressed readiness to strengthen further cooperation with the aim of enhancing the professional skills of Kazakh diplomats.
