А regional conference titled “Oraqty Batyr – A Heroic Symbol for Future Generations” was held at the Saken Seifullin Central Library in the Zhetysu region, dedicated to the 605th anniversary of the birth of the great batyr Oraqty Alshaghyruly.

            In the history of Kazakhstan, batyrs who fought for the independence of the nation hold a special place. One of them is Oraqty Batyr Alshaghyruly. He was born in 1420 in the southern region of Kazakhstan and was one of the chief commanders under Khan Abulkhair, who ruled for nearly 40 years. Oraqty Batyr was not only a military leader but also a great figure who called for national unity and stood firmly for justice.

            The regional conference was attended by the Head of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of the Zhetysu region, Kuanysh Suleimenov; Kazakh statesman and public figure, writer Nauryz Kylyshbayev; professor, scholar, Turkologist, translator, and member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Zaripbai Orazbay; chairman of the public foundation «Zhalaiyr Oraqty Batyr» Bolysbai Mombaev; writer and Honored Cultural Worker of Kazakhstan Ali Yskabai; poet and member of the Union of Writers and Journalists Nusipbai Abdrakhim; local historian Kultan Nurkalbayev; descendants of Oraqty Batyr, as well as poets, writers, and journalists from the Zhetysu region.

            During the event, a video about the life and heroic deeds of Oraqty Batyr in defense of his homeland was shown. Presentations were made, sharing factual information about the batyr, legends surrounding him, and stories about the batyr dynasty. The descendants of Oraqty Batyr expressed their thoughts on instilling the spirit of ancestral heroism in the younger generation and conveyed their gratitude to the organizers of the event.

            At the conclusion of the conference, artists from the D. Rakyshev Philharmonic of the Zhetysu region, Kuralai Shayakhmetova and Elmira Daurenbekova, performed traditional songs and terme, showcasing their artistry and leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
