Milad Karimi, senior specialist at the National Guard Sports Team Training Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and renowned gymnast, has won a silver medal in the floor exercise final at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in South Korea.
The 25-year-old athlete reaffirmed his status as one of the national team’s leading performers, earning an impressive 14.400 points from the judges. In a close contest for gold, Karimi fell short by just two-tenths of a point to the 2024 Olympic champion from the Philippines, Carlos Edriel Yulo (14.600). The bronze medal went to the host nation’s representative, Moon Geun-Yeon (14.033).
Milad Karimi remains a shining figure in Kazakhstan's gymnastics scene. He is a multiple-time World Cup winner in both floor exercise and high bar, as well as the 2025 World Cup overall winner in floor exercise. At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Karimi placed 5th in the floor exercise, and earlier in 2024, he claimed gold on the high bar at the Asian Championships.
The National Guard proudly celebrates Karimi’s accomplishments, which not only raise Kazakhstan’s profile on the global stage but also serve as an inspiring example of determination, discipline, and elite professionalism for the younger generation.
