A meeting of the Coordination Council on the topic "Law and Order: priorities for cooperation and strengthening public safety" was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk, attended by Denis Shakenov, Head of the Anti-Corruption Service of the East Kazakhstan region. The council was also attended by Akim of the region Nurymbet Saktaganov, Prosecutor of the region Almat Baishulakov, heads of law enforcement agencies, university rectors, representatives of non-governmental and youth organizations, as well as representatives of the media. Speaking at the meeting, Denis Shakenov noted that the Anti-Corruption Service of East Kazakhstan Region continues to work purposefully to strengthen law and order in both public and private structures. According to him, today Kazakhstan's anti-corruption policy is focused not only on countering corruption, but also on creating zero tolerance for it in society. "We are moving from routine response to systemic prevention, which is based on a change in public consciousness, the rejection of any form of corruption and nepotism by the population. Priority is given to preventive measures," Denis Shakenov emphasized. During the meeting, he also spoke about the implementation of anti-corruption initiatives, such as the projects "Anti-Corruption Volunteering", "Business Zhol", as well as about the activities of the Anti-Corruption Committee under the Public Council of the East Kazakhstan region. At the end of his speech, Denis Shakenov expressed confidence in further strengthening cooperation with civil society in the eradication of corruption. "The Anti-Corruption Service of East Kazakhstan Region will continue to conduct systematic, consistent and comprehensive work aimed at strengthening law and order. We will continue to actively educate, expand partnership with the public and implement practical initiatives," he said.
