The Ministry of digital development, innovation and aerospace industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Kazakhtelecom JSC signed an investment agreement to connect more than 3,000 villages to the internet.
Thanks to the signed deal, the implementation of the project for the construction of a fiber-optic communication network will be completed one year earlier than planned – by the end of 2026. And communication in remote areas will be provided by satellite channels until the end of 2027.
Thus, the project will provide 99% of villages in the country with high-speed internet by the end of 2027. Now in the near future, schools, hospitals, administrative buildings, budget organizations, as well as more than 40 checkpoints at public access points and state borders will have access to the network. Rural settlements are connected to the network via fiber-optic (88%) and satellite channels (12%).
In addition, infrastructure for mobile base stations will be strengthened in rural areas. Laying a fiber-optic network to these facilities will significantly improve the quality of mobile internet and communication.
