A seminar was held at the civil protection bodies of Zhetisu Region to address the prevention of radical religious ideologies and extremism. The event was attended by employees of the Department for Emergency Situations (DES) of Zhetisu Region, with a guest speaker from the Regional Department for Religious Affairs — a qualified theologian.

The main purpose of the seminar was to strengthen the legal and ethical awareness of personnel and to foster resilience against the influence of destructive ideologies.

During the session, the expert explained the psychological and social factors that can make individuals vulnerable to radical movements. Real-life examples were presented to help participants understand how recruitment typically occurs and how to recognize warning signs among colleagues or the public.

The speaker emphasized that radicalism is not about religion — it is a form of pressure, control, and often violence. He noted that destructive ideologies exploit emotional and psychological weaknesses, and combating them requires critical thinking, awareness, and access to verified information.

Participants were encouraged to maintain vigilance in their professional and personal environments, and to seek support when faced with potential ideological threats.

The session concluded with an open Q&A, and organizers announced that similar events will be held regularly to maintain awareness and build professional resilience within civil protection teams.
