XIII Summer Universiade held in Turkestan brought together more than 4,000 students from 79 higher educational institutions of the country
From May 10 to June 13, 2025, the XIII National Summer Universiade was held in Turkestan on the basis of the International University of Tourism and Hospitality.
2025 in June, the XIII Summer Universiade Games, an important sports event among higher educational institutions of the country, was successfully held at the International University of Tourism and Hospitality. More than 4,000 students from 79 higher educational institutions of the country took part in this competition.
The official opening ceremony of the Universiade was held on May 16, 2025 at the central stadium "Turkistan Arena". Prize winners of the Olympic and World Championships took part in the ceremony. In addition, representatives of the ministries and heads of local executive bodies took part in the opening ceremony.
Sports competitions were held in the main sports facilities of the city of Turkestan, such as the central stadium "Turkistan Arena", the sports palace named after B. Sattarkhanov, the sports center "Olympic", as well as the IUTH sports and health complex.

Freestyle wrestling (men) – 30 teams, 154 participants
Women's wrestling - 8 teams, 28 participants
Futsal - 40 teams, 441 participants
Boxing (men, women) - 36 teams, 201 participants Greco-Roman wrestling (men) – 27 teams, 130 participants Swimming (men, women) – 18 teams, 99 participants Kazakh wrestling (men, women) – 37 teams, 259 Participant.
The International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Kozha Ahmet Yasawi won 1st place in the overall team report after the Universiade Games. The university's athletes won 31 gold medals and became the winners of the Universiade.
The South Kazakhstan Research University named after M. Auezov took the 2nd place. Athletes of this higher educational institution entered the top three overall with 21 gold medals.
The Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism took the 3rd place. Academy athletes won 19 gold medals.
These achievements are a clear result of the sports potential of educational institutions, systematic training and comprehensive support.
The flag of the International Student Sports Federation (FISU) was officially raised to the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism, which will host the XIV Summer Universiade, during the closing ceremony. submitted.
