The industry of heavy machinery is one of the main driving forces of the industrial growth of Kazakhstan. The development of this sector contributes to the modernization of the country's economy, the expansion of production capacity and the increase of export potential. In particular, there is significant growth in the field of railway engineering, in recent years several large projects have been implemented with the participation of international investors. Since 2009, the plant has produced more than 500 freight and passenger locomotives for "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" and the CIS countries. The production processes meet US standards, and the specialists are trained abroad. The plant produces up to 70 electric locomotives per year and covers about 30% of the railway engineering market. The main products are the KZ8A, AZ8A and KZ4AT models, which are delivered to Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

"Stadler Kazakhstan" LLP is part of the Swiss Stadler Rail Group and is implementing a project for the production of passenger cars in Astana. The factory located in the territory of SEZ "Astana - New City" is capable of producing 90 wagons per year.

LLP "Kazakhstan Carriage Company" located in Ekibastuz produces up to 3000 semi-wagons for freight transportation per year. Products are exported to the domestic market and CIS countries, including Turkmenistan.

Atyrau Carriage Plant (AVSZ) is an important regional enterprise. The plant manufactures semi-cars and container platforms and covers the entire life cycle of a car, from design to repair and modernization.

ZIXTO LLP in Petropavl, North Kazakhstan region, engages in assembly, welding and painting of railway rolling stock. Currently, the plant is implementing innovative projects in the direction of design and production of various models of freight cars.

Thus, the field of heavy machinery has formed a powerful industrial base in the country, making a significant contribution to creating new jobs, introducing international technologies, and increasing Kazakhstan's competitiveness in the global market.
