Water was sent from Tasotkel reservoir in Zhambyl region. This work started in September last year and was carried out until the end of April this year as part of the measures to release water for the purpose of nature protection.

Water reached Sozak district in February. In order to ensure the necessary volume, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation held several negotiations with its colleagues in the Kyrgyz Republic.

On the instructions of the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, experts from the Zhambyl branch of "Kazsushar" and the Shu-Talas basin inspection conducted monitoring in the Shu River valley and got acquainted with the results of water transfer works for the purpose of nature protection. In addition to Sozak district, the working group also visited Shu, Moyinkum and Sarysu districts of Zhambyl region.

Such amount of water has reached Sozak district for the first time in the last five years, that's why the local residents are grateful to the ministry. Despite the heat, we would like to thank those of you who continue the work in the direction of water supply and go out to local areas and monitor the situation," said Rishat Tanatov, a resident of Sozak district. This year, by the order of the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, it is planned to clean the Furmanov bypass channel, which sends water from the Shu River to Sozak district.
