A solemn event dedicated to the Day of Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in the military unit in Kokshetau.

Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov congratulated the personnel of the military unit on a professional holiday and noted the important role of territorial defense units in the stability of the country and response to emergency situations.

"Territorial defense - a reliable shield that ensures security and public order in peacetime. Your organized actions, courage and discipline are highly appreciated. In difficult situations, you are the first to come to the rescue, showing loyalty to your oath and great responsibility," said the regional akim.

Keys to special equipment were solemnly handed over as part of the event. The akim of the region handed over the keys to four "KamAZ" cars and one sanitary vehicle to the unit commanders.

Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Head of the Department of Territorial Defense of the Ministry of Defense Askar Zholamanov gave a speech and on behalf of the Minister of Defense presented a letter of gratitude to the akim of the region for his contribution to the development of territorial defense forces.
