Delegations from 20 countries discussed prospects for the development of constitutional justice at an international conference

On June 17, 2025 at the international conference “Becoming Constitutional Justice in the countries of new democracy” (Kyrgyz Republic) met presidents and judges of constitutional courts, scientists and international experts from 20 countries, including Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Great Britain, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Thailand, Turkey, Philippines, Croatia, South Korea. The conference was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech in the format of a video message. He emphasized the key role of independent constitutional justice in ensuring sustainable democratic development. Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic Emil Oskonbaev expressed his gratitude to international partners for cooperation in the development of constitutional justice and noted the importance of joint search for solutions in the context of modern challenges.

Chairperson of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Elvira Azimova noted that effective, independent and professional constitutional justice is a necessary condition for strengthening the statehood.

The conference included a meeting of the Eurasian Association of Constitutional Courts, where the delegations discussed new directions and tasks of cooperation in the context of the legal agenda of the Eurasian space.
