On June 17, at the folk crafts festival "Koloner - Ulttyk Kundylygymyz" in the Community Center of Mendykara District, masters and connoisseurs of traditional applied art - students of the college, children's art school, as well as residents of the village of Borovskoye gathered.

The goal of the festival is not just a demonstration of crafts and familiarization with the products of folk craftsmen of different ethnic groups, but also an opportunity to touch the origins, try yourself in different techniques, and enjoy the creative process. And this means strengthening the connection between generations, preserving spiritual values and fostering love for our multinational Motherland. Once upon a time, not only goods, but also craft traditions traveled along the Great Silk Road, along the roads between the East and the West. It was through such cultural bridges that peoples were inspired by each other, cultures were mutually enriched and unique forms of art were created. Looking at the products of modern masters, we see how this path continues today.

With Makhmutova Amina, the Borovsk residents learned how to spin thread from wool and roving using a spindle. This master class was especially fun. For a fallen spindle, it was necessary to sing a ditty or remember a suitable proverb/saying. The girls happily performed ditties that they heard from their grandmothers.

The master class of Andrianova Nadezhda on painting fabric with acrylic aroused great interest; the children happily depicted elements of a plant ornament on their T-shirts and jeans.

With special trepidation, under the guidance of Zhansaya Ismagulova, the festival guests made tumars not only for themselves, but for all family members.

Both adults and children really enjoyed the master class of Bekbolatova Aigul on dry felting using needles and Akulova Tatyana on wet felting using a soap solution. This is not surprising, because felting is an effective art therapy technique that can help combat stress, relieve tension and develop fine motor skills.

The youngest craftswoman, Margarita Safiulina, is only 16 years old, but there was an endless line of children to her master class on creating keychains. They were attracted by both the elements of jewelry and miniature tools: all kinds of nippers, round-nose pliers, tweezers...

"Very cool and exciting. I would make 100 more!", "We discovered our hidden talents. So much positivity, impressions!", "I liked everything, drawing on clothes is very cool!", "Very interesting. I liked spinning with a spindle, I made myself a bracelet and a talisman. A very wise craft", "We immersed ourselves in the world of creativity, rested, charged with emotions, bought beautiful things" - this is what the festival participants say.

The organizers thank everyone who took part in the festival for their contribution to preserving cultural heritage and supporting folk crafts. Through creativity and interest in the culture of other ethnic groups, we better understand ourselves and our common path.

The festival is organized within the framework of the project to strengthen interethnic and interfaith harmony, which is being implemented by the PF "Association of Psychologists of the Kostanay Region" by order of the State Institution "Department of Internal Policy of the Mendykarinsky District".
