Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Greece Hold Telephone Conversation

Astana, August 8, 2026 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Georgios Gerapetritis.
During the conversation, the ministers reviewed the current state and prospects of Kazakhstan-Greece cooperation, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade and economic ties, and enhancing cooperation in priority areas.
Particular attention was devoted to ensuring the resilience of international energy supplies. In this context, the sides exchanged views on the situation surrounding the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), one of the key export routes for transporting Kazakh oil to global markets.
Emphasizing the importance of the uninterrupted operation of the CPC infrastructure and the stable supply of oil to the European market,
Yermek Kosherbayev stressed the need to ensure the safety of navigation and the freedom of maritime navigation, while underscoring the inadmissibility of any actions that could jeopardize the Consortium’s operations.
Foreign Ministers reaffirmed their interest in further developing practical cooperation in the energy sector and expressed their readiness to strengthen the existing mechanisms of bilateral cooperation.
Concluding the conversation, Minister Kosherbayev emphasized the importance of maintaining a regular political dialogue and continuing high-level contacts.
