According to the work plan of the Department of Culture for 2025, large-scale explanatory work on onomastics was carried out in the region on June 09-17, 2025. As part of the complex of events, more than 15 meetings were held in 8 districts on the topic "Onomastics of Salasi boyynsha tusindiru-zertteu zhumystary" ("Explanatory and research work on onomastics"), in the cities of Arkalyk and Rudny - field seminars on the topic "Zher–su ataulary: eldik sana zhane rukhani zhangyru" ("Geographical toponyms: national consciousness and spiritual rebirth") with the participation of the Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Vice-President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan D.K. Koshim, Professor of Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynuly, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, guardian of the language, knight of the Order of "Kurmet" K.H. Zhakyp, Chairman of the Kostanay regional branch of the International Society "Kazakh Tili" Z. Sanai, Deputy head of the Department of Culture M.B. Abdirakhmanov, chief specialist of the Department of onomastic work A.J. Saduakasova.  The events were attended by deputies of district (city) maslikhats, public opinion leaders, members of local community meetings, veterans' councils, onomastics working groups, local historians, teachers, mayors of villages and rural districts, residents, heads of institutions, enterprises, entrepreneurs, specialists of museums, libraries, youth resource centers, heads and specialists of departments culture and language development. The field seminars covered all regions. The speakers informed about the main directions of onomastic policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, onomastic problems in Kostanay region, legislative regulation of onomastic sphere, shared their experience. Representatives of the executive bodies of cities and districts familiarized with the onomastic situation in the regions. The participants asked topical questions about renaming streets, naming individuals to objects, and voiced suggestions.
