Karaganda wrestlers won two bronze medals at the Asian Championship in Vietnam

In Vietnam, in the province of Baria Vung Tau, the Asian Wrestling Championship was held among athletes under the age of 17 and under 23. More than a thousand young wrestlers from 24 countries competed. As part of the national team of Kazakhstan, the Karaganda region was represented by two athletes, they returned home with medals.
- Vietnam hosted the continental championship for the first time. The tournament is of great importance for the development of the wrestling movement in Asia, and also provides an opportunity to share experiences and improve skills," said Mohamad Awamleh, President of the Asian Wrestling Federation.
At competitions among wrestlers under the age of 23, Angelina Pervukhina from Karaganda won bronze, competing in the 55 kg weight category. She trains at the School of Higher Sports Excellence in the Karaganda region.
Askhab Khadzhiev, a graduate of the Regional Boarding School-College of the Olympic Reserve named after A. Moldagulova, also became the bronze medalist. He took third place in freestyle wrestling in the 79 kg weight category.
