Indonesia-Kazakhstan Tour Operators Meeting: A New Course for Tourism Development

Jakarta, June 26, 2025 – The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Indonesia, with the support of the national company Kazakh Tourism, organized a presentation on Kazakhstan’s tourism potential. The event brought together more than 50 representatives of the tourism industry, including leading Indonesian travel companies and Kazakh tour operators.

The primary objective of the event was to promote Kazakhstan as a promising travel destination in Central Asia and to establish direct partnerships between tourism industry stakeholders from both countries. During the meeting, participants discussed preparatory steps for the planned Indonesia-Kazakhstan Tour Operators Forum.

Representatives of Kazakh Tourism delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting Kazakhstan’s competitive advantages. These include a visa-free regime for citizens of 83 countries, an extensive air route network comprising 121 routes to 28 countries, international recognition through features in The New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler, and Lonely Planet, a rich cultural heritage and natural landmarks including UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as a modern digital infrastructure the multilingual portal kazakhstan.travel available in eight languages.

Kazakh companies Kompas, Skyway, and Turan Asia presented a wide range of tourism products across various segments, including urban, ecological, ethnographic, gastronomic, individual, and MICE tourism, as well as space tourism.

An interactive session provided an opportunity for participants to discuss the organizational and logistical aspects of tourism development – ranging from accommodation facilities and transport infrastructure to the current state of air connectivity between the two countries. Particular attention was given to enhancing route accessibility and ensuring comfortable travel conditions for Indonesian citizens.

As a result of the discussions, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering closer cooperation between Kazakhstan and Indonesian tour operators. This collaboration will focus on the development of tailored travel packages that take into account cultural specificities, seasonal trends, and the preferences of Indonesian travelers.
