In the East Kazakhstan Museum-Reserve, as part of the celebration of the National Dombra Day, the regional festival-competition «Souvenir of the East» was held. It was organized by the Department of Culture of the East Kazakhstan Region, the East Kazakhstan Architectural-Ethnographic and Natural-Landscape Museum-Reserve» and the Resource Center of Craftsmen of the East Kazakhstan Region. The goal of the event is to develop and popularize local folk crafts and trades.

A concert program, a fair of folk crafts and souvenirs, master classes in weaving, braiding, clay modeling, embroidery and other types of handicrafts, face painting awaited festival visitors. Guests of the festival saw colorful embroidered patterns, scarves, shi weaving, carved and painted household items, felt clothing, leather accessories, stone and metal jewelry and other handicrafts. At the end of the festival, a solemn award ceremony was held for the masters who won the regional competition.
