Kazakhstan and Greece Expand Academic Cooperation in the Field of Diplomacy

Athens, 17 July 2025 — Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hellenic Republic Timur Suleimenov met with the Director of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Ambassador Michael-Christos Diamessis.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of diplomatic training and professional exchange, based on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Greece signed in 2022 in Astana.

Particular attention was paid to the exchange of experience in organizing academic programs, including the structure and functions of the diplomatic academies of both countries. The Ambassador provided an overview of the key elements of Kazakhstan’s diplomatic training system, as well as the ongoing reforms and approaches being implemented in the professional education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Both sides expressed interest in further institutionalizing the cooperation and agreed to explore opportunities for mutual internships, guest lectures, roundtable discussions, and other forms of educational engagement between the relevant institutions of the two countries.

The parties expressed confidence that the agreements reached would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations and fostering sustainable professional ties between the diplomatic services of Kazakhstan and Greece.
